It actually fairly simple. They are almost all scams and/or ripoffs. They really don’t do anything that you can’t do yourself. They charge huge fees and tell you to pay them so they can pay your cards. What they don’t tell you is that the plan is to miss payments and ruin your credit so that cards will take less in settlement. I’d stay away. Don’t let anyone handle transactions that affect your credit.
